Boulder, Utah

Jonathan, Amy, Hillary and I drove down to Boulder, Utah about a month ago. It is such an amazing place filled with genuine salt of the earth people. Saturday night Vicky, who is a professional singer, had a surprise birthday party for her mother. Her band was in town and they preformed for us. Eventually musicians from the town joined in and by the end of the night we were all stomping & dancing together in her living room... Hippies and cowboys... Mountain men and City kids... it was simply surreal… this is vicky's band...

I loved it... and wished it could be my life always... If you remember I spent Christmas in Boulder with Wulf and Kristen, Marsha's friends. I saw them this weekend in Boulder. I had a chat with Kristen about Boulder and how the community is a dream. She said it is because, "we depend on each other so much here". Amy and I talked about community and if it is possible to create such a community where ever we are... We also read Nibley's talk Work We Must But the Lunch is Free... Somehow the idea of community and the ideas Nibley expressed in his talk go hand in hand for me... And dependence... what is it to be dependent on a community... the more dependent you are on someone the more you love them??? Or the more they love you...I am not sure... something about recognizing that what you have is not yours... that it was given to you from on high... so if it was never yours to begin with of course it is only yours to share with those around you... these are all just random ideas... but good ones... (of course I mean this dependance in a service type - charity sort of love way... not co-dependance)

Hopefully I will get photos from this weekend’s trip to post later...

aaahhh Boulder, what a lovely little town. And not to far from that town, is my favorite town of all the towns, Teasdale.

I love the word town.

So glad you got to spend some time in Boulder, I hope you said hello to the Cactus Hill Motel on your way. Saw your post about the homeless shelter, press on, and good things will happen.
