a few concerts

more phone photos...

i haven't attended many concerts this fall and winter... I did see AA Bondy at the Urban Lounge... it was pretty good... i didn't take a phone photo of the bondy.... but i have a few from last summer....

here are those promised unscripted concert phone photos

okkerville river before the iron&wine... claimed a great spot early with Amy... later Tye and his friends joined us... i love okkerville river... they are from Austin... i always think... if i had stayed in Texas we would probably be friends... especially their song a girl in port... depressing and poignant...

the Africans at the arts festival... I can't remember their name... but I have a c.d. from 10 years ago...so I really am a fan... my friend ted and i went to this show... they were so great!!! i loved it... they were so cool... they way they moved or with the music... or the way the music moved with them... and me... and the few of us who loved it... my favorite is that we had to wait forever for the show to start... i cant remember if it was when they came out on stage... or before they made their first appearance... i think they were tuning their instruments before starting... and my friend ted said something about the band needing to make an entrance and melting our faces... it made me laugh...

Josh Ritter. So much fun. I randomly ran into my friend Liz and her sisters. Liz lives in Washington state. So it made me more than happy to hang out with her at the show. One of Liz's sister love the ritter... more than most I think... I thought the drummers face looked uncomfortably happy... couldn't figure it out... it was sort of frozen in a horrified exaggerated smile... but the music was great... its just that smile sort of stressed me out.

Casiotone for the Painfully Alone... I picked up John Karl from a family day at Temple Square. We ate thai and rode around on my scooter... I asked him to buy it. He said he would if he had the money. He now owns a stella he purchased a few weeks later. un-huh.

its ok. i have a special place in my heart for john. i am sure many people do. how can you not? he is a crazy cat man. he is funny. and he loves the painfully alone... and he cares about his friends... john shouted out more than a few requests... and he bought me a tote bag. thanks john.
