"Enter Aboriginal land to see the amazing land formation of STANDLEY CHASM, huge sheer rock walls almost touch & the chasm walls reflect the sunlight creating a breathtaking display of fiery colour"
It sounds awesome, right? Unfortunately we got to the park at 4:30 p.m. and the gates close at 5:00p.m. and they wouldn't let us see the chasm. So instead I convinced Nate and Kathrine to climb to the top of a little mountain/hill in the parking lot. Harmony was content to sit on a picnic table and watch us. Nate hit his leg on a rock and Kathrine was miserable as well. When we got home Nate checked our his injury, a ginormous bruise on his thigh with a nasty cut (ie. a chasm) in the middle of the bruise.
Kathrine has a beautiful voice. She often drives just out of town to be alone so she can sing. A few weeks ago I was guilt-ed into singing a song for a Relief Society activity. When they asked me if I sang I replied, NO. The activity revolved around trying new things. So, full of anxiety, I called on Kathrine for help. She taught me a few techniques and mostly gave me the confidence to stand in front of a small group and sing alone.
Other than teaching non-singers to sing, she works at the local pizza/Italian restaurant. It seems like every Friday night Nate and I walk in and ask about the wait... it's always an hour... and so we say hi to Kathrine and find a restaurant with less of a wait. Last night we did it again, and she told us... "Not on a Friday or Saturday night!" She tells us that every week... but we keep forgetting.
